Have you ever wondered if invisible friends are real or not? It’s kind of like the epic question, “if a tree falls in the middle of the forest, and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound”?
I just learned of my little great-nephew’s new invisible friend. He was a little sad for his friend, because he couldn’t have a brownie, but since his friend hadn’t finished his dinner, he couldn’t have one. LOL Isn’t that just the sweetest story? But it has had me thinking on the topic of invisible friends, and the way young children think.
To a young child, an invisible friend is REAL. Their brain hasn’t developed to the point of understanding that invisible means “not real”. But, here’s a question for ya… do they learn that invisible isn’t real, or do we un-learn that invisible IS real??? Which truth is true? Or are they both true?
(Jimmy Stewart plays a fella that has an invisible friend named Harvey as an adult! You can click the picture to find out more or buy the dvd!)
They can’t prove their friend is real, but then again, adults can’t prove he isn’t, if you don’t count the not visible part. I mean, we teach them to believe in God, which (no disrespect intended) is kind of like an invisible friend. So, how do we know their friend is any less real? Hmmmmmm….
Oh the thinks a person can think! LOL
